PKO class guide

Abyss-Sea uses the classic Pirates King Online tree: four first jobs, then an NPC class quest into a second job. No cash-shop class unlocks. This guide is for players comparing Swordsman, Hunter, Herbalist, and Explorer before launch.

How jobs work

You start as a Newbie. Around level 10 you pick a first craft. Later, an NPC quest unlocks the second job — and you keep the first-job skills. If you want the interactive skill list, open the class tree.

Swordsman

Sword and shield, or dual blades

You stand in the teeth of the pack. Taunt, break armor, and keep the healer breathing. At the next class quest you choose speed (Crusader) or raw power (Champion).

Close-range melee and the front of every party.

Second jobs

  • Crusader

    Twin blades

You stop being a wall and become a knife. Stealth in, poison, knock them down, vanish. Still a Swordsman underneath — the old kit does not go away.

  • Champion

    Greatsword

You plant a totem and become the boss fight. More HP, more roar, a strike that asks for that totem and pays 3.5×.

Hunter

Bow or gun

You never wanted to be hugged. Kite, poison, and rain arrows. The Sharpshooter quest is the gun path — silence, cripple, and a headshot that ignores armor.

Long range, high burst, thin as paper.

Second jobs

  • Sharpshooter

    Firearm

The bow was practice. Cripple their feet, shut their skills, melt the ground, then Headshot for max damage plus a chunk of their life.

Herbalist

Staff

STA is your weapon. Keep HP up, strip poison, and revive when someone gets greedy. Cleric doubles down on the party. Seal Master makes the other party wish they stayed home.

Heals, bolts, and the buffs that win long fights.

Second jobs

  • Cleric

    Staff

You turn a scramble into a formation. Energy Shield eats hits as SP. Healing Spring covers the pile. Crystalline Blessing says not today.

  • Seal Master

    Seals

You do not heal the fight — you cancel it. Defense down, no auto-attacks, no skills, stuck in the mire. Intense Magic makes your own bolts meaner.

Explorer

Coral

Land is a rumor. Lightning, wind, and bind from the deck. Voyager unlocks the full coral set: fog, whirlpool, curtains of thunder.

Coral elements and the open sea.

Second jobs

  • Voyager

    Coral arts

Ship-to-ship is your raid. Line damage, thunderstorms, a tailwind for allies, fog that guts their attack, a whirlpool that steals their speed.

Quick picks

  • Want frontline? Swordsman → Champion (tank) or Crusader (speed / dual blades).
  • Want range? Hunter → Sharpshooter (guns, silence, headshot).
  • Want support or control? Herbalist → Cleric (party) or Seal Master (debuffs).
  • Want the sea? Explorer → Voyager (coral arts, ship fights).
